Nick Gleason is a 14 year old Boy Scout working his Eagle Scout Award, the highest rank in Boy Scouts. Recently Nick planned, coordinated, and carried out a service project that would benefit the community for the final requirement of the Eagle Scout Award. His plan was to landscape an area at the Odd Fellows Home in Worcester, MA. The landscaping has beautified the grounds and overall appearance of the Home and has been a benefit to the residents.

Nick and his troop of Scouts arrived at the Home at 7:30 a.m. and set to work. The young men, under Nick's leadership, began digging, planting and generally working hard to make our Home grounds beautiful. Not only did they succeed in this project but they also planned an ice cream social for the residents at 2:00 p.m. The young men helped to bring the residents down from their rooms, served the ice cream and just talked with them.

Nick's ambition is to live a good life. He will continue going to church and will continue to have a special place for God in his life. He would also like to go to college and become a chef. He is very conscious about how important good health is and therefore will continue to stay away from drugs, alcohol, and cigarettes. He will be active in his community and hopes to have a family of his own someday. Nick has received many honors and awards in his 5 years as a Boy Scout and says that the Boy Scout oath will always be a way of life for him.

Nick is the son of Paul and Darlene Gleason and has an older sister named Nicole. Darlene has worked at the Odd Fellows Home for 2 years as a Unit Secretary.

The Board of Trustees are very proud of this young man and his leadership abilities and salute him as one of our leaders of tomorrow. Nick has great goals in his life, and we as Odd Fellows and Rebekahs should do all we can to see that they all come true.
